About the track

Helping you navigate the huge amount of content at NeurIPS.

New to NeurIPS, new to AI, or just want help navigating the huge amount of content presented each year? The Education Track is a full-day primer on the biggest ideas in AI from the past year.

The day is built around concepts: any technical idea that has underpinned a large set of papers at top-tier AI conferences over the past year - from new architectures to training and alignment techniques to evaluation and reasoning methods. Think the 2026 equivalents of the Transformer, the reparameterisation trick, or LLM judges.

Each concept will be taught by leading science communicators and educators in AI, and paired with original educational resources - interactive demos, code notebooks and short videos to help you understand it. These will be added to an open repository, freely available to the community after the conference. There will also be poster sessions for deeper dives on the concepts.

Whether it's your first NeurIPS or your tenth, the track is designed to help you arrive prepared.

For submitters

Calling all science communicators in AI. Submissions are open for proposals to teach an emerging concept shaping the field right now. Concepts can be any technical idea that has underpinned a large set of papers at top-tier AI conferences over the past year - from new architectures to training and alignment techniques to evaluation methods. Think the 2026 equivalents of the Transformer, the reparameterisation trick, or LLM judges. You need not be the original author of the concept - only that you can teach it with real clarity.

You'll need to pair your concept proposal with original teaching materials such as code notebooks or short videos. If accepted, you'll present in Sydney, and your materials will join the open repository for the community.
